Job Description
Provide networking and administrative systems support to the Joint Land Component Constructive Training Capability Federation (JLCCTC) computer systems, networks and interfaces. Responsible for setting up and maintaining the physical and logical network required for the JLCCTC components to communicate. Responsible for working with unit to provide the network path and permissions required for passing tactical data from simulations to the tactical mission command systems. Monitor network performance and troubleshoot any network discrepancies. Ensure compliance with JLCCTC configuration management policies and perform systems backup as needed. Perform systems administrative tasks on Red Hat LINUX, Windows (servers and workstations). Operate the WARSIM workstation and other associated workstation in the federation as a user. Able to travel unaccompanied to continental US and foreign locations.
This role involves overseeing the WARSIM Technical Control, as well as the Joint Land Component Constructive Training Capability (JLCCTC) Tech Control Forward enclave. Qualifications
- High School Diploma.
- Experience working on military projects or as a member of the Armed Forces.
- Networking experience, knowledge of US Army doctrine, organizational structure and training philosophy.
- Able to install, configure, operate and manage Linux, Windows operating systems software and simulation application software used by the JLCCTC federates.
- Expert knowledge of basic computer operating concepts and skills.
- Security+ certification and additional certifications to meet DoD 8570 IAT Level 2 certification.
- At least two years experience with DIS and/or HLA federations.
- Secret security clearance
Desired Experience
- Bachelor of Arts or Science degree from an accredited college or university in systems management, applied mathematics, computer science or a related field.
- Five years experience as a system analyst.
Expert knowledge of networks, communications, file transfer protocols, and the basic commands and file structures of LINUX and WINDOWS
