Job Description
Position Title: Heavy Equipment Mechanic – Vertical Lift LEAD
Location: Kwajalein Atoll-Marshall Islands
Duties: Under the supervision of the Maintenance Manager, performs a full range of operator, organizational, direct support and limited general support equipment repairs on both wheeled and tracked vehicles. Analyzes malfunctions and repairs, rebuilds and maintains power equipment, such as, but not limited to cranes, manlifts, scissor lifts, forklifts, variable reach forklifts and platform grapplers. Operates and inspects machines or equipment to diagnose defects; dismantles and reassembles equipment using hoists and hand tools; examines parts for damage or excessive wear using micrometers and gauges; replaces defective engines and subassemblies, such as transmissions; and tests overhauled equipment to ensure operating efficiency. May direct workers engaged in cleaning parts and assisting with assembly and disassembly of equipment.
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred. Must provide a copy of the diploma.
Skill level and/or years of experience: Minimum of four (4) years of experience in wheeled and/or tracked vertical lift vehicle maintenance at the journeyman level.
Licenses/Certifications: Grove, Hyster, JLG or Genie factory certification desired.
Other Requirements:
- Active U.S. Passport
- Prior military experience preferred (not required)
