Job Description

Position Description: As directed, the shipping/receiving clerk performs a variety of warehousing duties which require an understanding of the establishment’s storage plan. Work involves most of the following: Verifying materials (or merchandise) against receiving documents, noting and reporting discrepancies and obvious damages; routing materials to prescribed storage locations; storing, stacking, or palletizing materials in accordance with prescribed storage methods; rearranging and taking inventory of stored materials; examining stored materials and reporting deterioration and damage; removing material from storage and preparing it for shipment. May operate hand or power trucks in performing warehousing duties.

Task Execution: Employee is expected to carry out work in accordance with standard operating procedure, work instruction or on the job training with a common goal of meeting stated customer requirements. Employee is expected to follow the instruction given to them to complete the assigned work.

Issue resolution: Employees are expected to report both operational and personnel issues within the proper ASJ chain of command. The Employee should never report any personnel issues to the Client (any NSLC Employee). The Employee should bring operational issues to the ASJ Lead for resolution before bringing it to the Government.

Professionalism: Employee has the responsibility to be professional in the workplace at all times. He/she should always treat the Client, Management and Co-workers with respect.

Quality: Employee is responsible for performing tasks with minimal errors. Recurring errors will not be tolerated.

Safety: Employee is responsible for performing tasks in a safe manner. Employees are required to comply with the requirements for Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Employee is required to report any unsafe activity, mishap or accident to his/her Supervisor or Lead immediately. Failure to report any safety issues may result in immediate termination. Employees should familiarize themselves with Safety Guidelines for ASJ

Dependability and Commitment: Employee is expected to work on all scheduled days and during schedule work hours and to report to work on time. Excessive tardiness and absenteeism will not be tolerated. Employee is required to notify Supervisor or Lead as far in advance as possible, but no later than 30 minutes of the start of the shift, if he/she expects to be late or absent. Employee should familiarize themselves with the Attendance Policy for ASJ

MHE Operation: MHE Operators are expected to inspect their equipment prior to operation and after operation. Employee should immediately report any near-miss, mishap or product damage as the result of the MHE operation. Employees should familiarize themselves with Safety for ASJ
