Overview
Our client, a veteran owned small business and government contractor is seeking the skills of a Medium Truck Driver to join their team in support of the US Navy / Naval Sea Logistics Center (NSLC).

Job Description
The Truck driver drives a truck to transport materials, merchandise, equipment, or workers. This driver may also load or unload trucks with or without helpers. Should be skilled in handling controls for starting, stopping, air brakes, backing and driving vehicles (up to 26,000 GVWR). Applies state required special perception to judge overhead and side clearances of vehicle, turning radius, braking distance and distance from other vehicles in all road/weather conditions. Shall be required to operate material handling equipment such as pickup trucks (including trucks up to 26,000 GVWR), straight trucks, box or flatbeds, forklifts up to 6K, and other material handling equipment to safely and efficiently load and unload vehicles. Must be knowledgeable of vehicle and handling equipment maintenance and operational requirements and safety inspections tasks prior to operation. Familiarity with and adherence to government installation, state and federal regulations governing operations of vehicles transporting passengers, cargo and hazmat material. Must have skill in identifying potential safety hazards and taking appropriate preventive measures to mitigate damage or loss to personnel and equipment. Must have knowledge of reporting requirements and procedures of truck drivers to include trip tickets, preventative maintenance records, driver’s log and accident reports. Must communicate clearly and concisely with supervisors, dispatchers and customers regarding the progress of work and the causes of work delays.

Desired Education: High School Diploma.
MUST have a Secret Clearance
Training, Certification, and Licenses: Valid driver’s license, clean driving record.
