Job Description

JOB SUMMARY: The contractor is required to provide services to include receive, issue, sort, inventory and offload/on load material and equipment from/to delivery vehicles for COMNAVAIRPAC located on Naval Air Station North Island (NASNI). The contractor will coordinate the receipt, storage, issue, tracking and management of COMNAVAIRPAC pool asset material such as aviator chairs, mattresses, furniture, clothing, and ceremonial equipment located at COMHSMWINGPAC Property Management Branch, Naval Air Station North Island NASNI).

WAREHOUSE MATERIAL MANAGEMENT AND MOVEMENT: Contractor shall maintain warehouse material and equipment and locate/relocate items as required. Specific tasks include: 

  • Offload/on load to/from delivery vehicles using a government provided forklift for all general supplies and CNAP Pool Asset material, including ceremonial gear, foul weather clothing, shipboard habitability items, along with all other items purchased in support of CNAP units. An average of ten offload/on load from delivery vehicles will take place on a daily basis. 
  • Prepare material for storage within COMNAVAIRPAC facilities to include packaging, banding, wrapping, and palletizing. Repackage material, when necessary, to support generally accepted warehousing practices and to ensure proper material safety, security and storage. An average of 5 pallets are being processed daily. 
  • Perform material inventory counts and maintain a Microsoft EXCEL inventory spreadsheet. The frequency of inventory is on a monthly basis. 
  • Receive material from vendors, verifying documentation for accuracy and checking for discrepancies in material counts of condition. Notify COMNAVAIRPAC representative of all count/condition issues where quantity or quality is in question in the receiving process. An average of five vendors deliveries daily. 
  • Based on pool asset usage, condition and quantity available, identify requirement shortages, locate replacement sources using FEDLOG, DOD E-Mall, GSA Advantage and the internet. Maintain all material/equipment receipt and issue documents. Maintain files by document number and make available for Government review and required/requested. An average of 50 documents are being processed on a quarterly basis. 
  • Prepare material for offload/disposal or reutilization to Defense Reutilization Material Office (DRMO) as required or directed. An average of ten pallets are being processed for DRMO on a quarterly basis. 
  • Obtain quotes from vendors for laundry, fabrication and repair services related to COMNAVAIRPAC Pool Assets. Submit quotes to designated government representative. The frequency for this task is on a quarterly basis. 
  • Make/revise pool asset reservations, scheduling pick-ups/deliveries using Microsoft Outlook Calendar. Follow up on status of orders in place and estimated delivery dates. Manage all reservations on Microsoft EXCEL spreadsheets. Daily basis. Average of 10 customers/inquiries. 
  • Track asset movement with telephone communications and email and coordinate pool asset material movement as it relates to services being performed on a daily basis. Daily basis. Average of 15 pallets.  
  • Maintain COMNAVAIRPAC warehouse facilities in a safe and orderly manner, removing trash on a daily basis. Act as the warehouse fire warden, performing routine monthly fire extinguisher checks. Attend annual fire warden training at Federal Fire Department, Naval Base Coronado, CA. Training is provided, by the Government, at no cost to the contractor. This is Federal Fire requirement of personnel, government or contractor, working in warehouse spaces.

 

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE: Warehouse workers shall have three (3) years general supply experience with two (2) years performing warehouse duties. Workers shall have the ability to use a computer to properly receive, process, store, issue and deliver material for COMNAVAIRPAC. Must be able to operate material handling equipment and possess a valid forklift license to operate a minimum of 6,000-pound forklift. All contractors shall possess a valid California Class C driver’s license. The contractor shall have the knowledge, skills and ability to document material movement, prepare and submit reports and communicate with customers using Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel), telephones, and by conducting face-to-face discussions. The contractor shall be knowledgeable of Navy protocol and regulations as they pertain to official ceremonies and special events. The Contractor interacts with personnel ranging from all levels of civilian leadership, squadron and shipboard sailors up to Commanding Officers.
