Director SAP Technical Services

Location: Remote

Primary Responsibilities:

• Building and managing a team of expert SAP technical analysts and architects
• Development, basis, security, integration, and automated testing areas, staffing technical teams for client engagements
• leading technical teams on client engagements as required and available,
• Providing technical and staffing expertise to support Business Development activities.

Examples of daily activities for this role include:

• Interviewing and making hiring decisions for technical team roles.
• Creating and facilitating training plans for the team.
• Providing coaching and technical leadership with a focus on bringing out the best in team members by guiding them through goals and obstacles.
• Building and managing relationships with third party staffing companies.
• Creating and managing staffing plans for client engagements.
• Serving in technical leadership roles on client project teams as available and required.
• Providing SAP technical knowledge and staffing estimates to support Business Development activities.

Required Experiences and Skills

• Significant experience leading people with ability to identify, coach, develop, retain, inspire, and motivate high-caliber talent.
• Experience managing and developing a diverse team, including hiring, performance evaluations, and career development.
• Ability to set clear goals, delegate responsibilities, and ensure timely delivery of projects while maintaining high-quality standards.
• Extensive experience (10+ years) working with SAP systems, including SAP ECC, SAP S/4HANA, SAP BW/4HANA, and other SAP systems and modules.
• In-depth knowledge of SAP technical architecture, landscape design, system integrations, and data migration strategies.
• Proven track record of successfully delivering large-scale SAP implementation projects, including system upgrades and migrations.
• Demonstrated experience leading end-to-end SAP technical projects, including project planning, resource allocation, budget management, and risk assessment.
• Proficient in project management methodologies and tools, ensuring projects are delivered within scope, budget, and timeline constraints.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, functional consultants, and infrastructure teams.
• Experience managing SAP system landscapes, including system copies, client copies, system refreshes, and transport management.
• Strong knowledge of SAP security administration, user management, and authorization concepts.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience engaging with business leaders and senior management to understand their requirements, provide technical insights, and align SAP technical strategies with business objectives.
• Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with internal teams, external vendors, and SAP consultants.
• Passion for staying updated with the latest SAP technologies, trends, and best practices.
• Ability to drive innovation and leverage emerging SAP technologies to improve operational efficiency and enhance business processes.
• Proactive approach towards process improvement, automation, and optimization of SAP technical services.

Desired Experiences and Skills

• Operational experience in warehouse management, logistics, transportation, supply chain or manufacturing.
• Experience working with the Department of Defense or other Federal Agencies

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. A Master’s degree would be an advantage.
