Senior SAP Deployment Lead

Location: RemoteĀ 

The Senior SAP Deployment Lead is responsible for leading end-to-end development and deployment activities for global SAP system rollouts. Examples of daily activities for this role include:

  • Project Planning: Review project plans, schedules, and resource allocation to ensure the smooth execution of SAP deployments. Coordinate with stakeholders, project teams, and vendors to align expectations and milestones.
  • Team Management: Lead and supervise a team of SAP deployment professionals, providing guidance, support, and feedback. Assign tasks, monitor progress, and ensure the team’s overall productivity and performance.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Engage with stakeholders, such as business leaders, clients, and IT teams, to gather requirements, provide updates, and address concerns. Conduct regular meetings and presentations to keep stakeholders informed about project status and progress.
  • Deployment Strategy: Develop and refine deployment strategies and methodologies to optimize SAP implementation processes. Identify risks, anticipate challenges, and propose mitigation plans to ensure successful deployments.
  • Issue Resolution: Troubleshoot and resolve issues, conflicts, and challenges that arise during SAP deployments. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, system administrators, and end-users, to identify and implement solutions.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure the quality and integrity of SAP deployments by conducting testing, validation, and user acceptance activities. Define and implement quality control measures, perform system audits, and monitor performance metrics.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimization, automation, and efficiency enhancement. Evaluate emerging SAP technologies, trends, and methodologies to propose innovative solutions for future deployments.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate documentation of project activities, configurations, and deployment processes. Generate reports, metrics, and status updates for project stakeholders and management.
  • Professional Development: Stay updated with the latest SAP advancements, industry standards, and best practices. Attend relevant training, conferences, and workshops to enhance your technical and leadership skills.

Required Experiences and Skills

    • Extensive experience managing SAP implementation projects and leading deployment activities across various modules and components of SAP, such as SAP ERP, SAP S/4HANA, SAP EWM and TM.
    • Proven track record successfully managing large-scale IT projects, including project planning, resource management, risk mitigation, and stakeholder communication. Familiarity with project management methodologies like Agile, Waterfall, or Hybrid approaches.
    • In-depth understanding of SAP software, architecture, and modules. Proficiency in SAP configuration, customization, and integration techniques. Knowledge of SAP best practices, industry-specific solutions, and emerging trends in the SAP ecosystem.
    • Strong leadership skills to guide and motivate cross-functional teams, manage conflicts, and drive project success. Ability to effectively delegate tasks, provide clear direction, and foster a collaborative work environment.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to engage with stakeholders, clients, and team members. Ability to convey complex technical concepts in a clear and concise manner. Experience managing expectations, negotiating priorities, and addressing concerns.
    • Analytical mindset with the ability to identify issues, evaluate options, and make informed decisions. Proficiency in troubleshooting technical challenges, mitigating risks, and proposing effective solutions in a timely manner.
    • Familiarity with change management principles and methodologies to facilitate smooth transitions during SAP deployments. Ability to assess the impact of changes, develop change management strategies, and ensure user adoption and training.
    • Experience implementing quality control measures, conducting system audits, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices. Knowledge of testing methodologies, including unit testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing.
    • Understanding of business processes and requirements across various industries, in particular with Warehousing and Transportation. Ability to align SAP deployments with business objectives, translate business needs into technical requirements, and provide value-added solutions to enhance operational efficiency.
    • Dedication to staying updated with the latest SAP advancements, industry trends, and technological innovations. Willingness to continuously enhance technical skills and expand knowledge through training, certifications, and participation in professional communities.

Desired Experiences and Skills

  • Operational experience in warehouse management, logistics, transportation, supply chain or manufacturing.
  • Experience working with the Department of Defense or other Federal Agencies

Travel: 10% – 40% varying based on client project schedules
